Thanksgiving

The Peace Corps drove us to the country directors house for Thanksgiving.  The whole event was catered with some pretty incredible food.  There were ten turkeys!

Here is a photo of our country director, Wendy Van Damme.  Her husband is a professional photographer and an avid music buff.  I spent several hours listening to The Beatles on his Meadowlark Swift speakers coupled to an 8 tube two channel amp.  Then some dorks came in and wanted to watch Friends reruns.

On top of the ten turkeys, there was green been casserole (a personal favorite), mashed potatoes, cranberries, and pumpkin pie.

My friend and fellow volunteer, Lisa Reid.  She hails from Buffalo, NY along with my dear friends the Eichs.

Here is a pic of the whole shebang.  Katie and Rob (the girl in the black and white stripes and the guy behind her), are current volunteers and have been in country one year already.  Rob is my site mate and lives an easy three hour hike from me.  I took a picture of Rob's site as viewed from my site in a previous blog.

Everyone, meet Will.  Will is a cool dude.  He actually brought a pair of pants that is four sizes too large just so he could eat more at Thanksgiving, hence the suspenders.  He can also hula-hoop like a madman even after such a large meal.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

- Peace
